This is NETH FM, which is one of the popular Sri Lankan online radio stations. Along with Children’s, Family and Youth Education, Information and Entertainment show to Uva Province of Sri Lanka with very conscious about listeners demand and choice, NETH FM plays various types of programs. It is developing playlists continuously while getting audiences’ good feedback on this radio channel. As communal song shared within individual groups as they engaged in daily work, caste-based folk poems (kavi) originated. When they remain a popular form of cultural expression, Kavi was also sung to accompany annual rituals.


Despite these ancient rites are rarely performed in contemporary Sri Lanka, the preserved songs are still performed by folk musicians. Sri Lanka was derived from ritualistic responses to a natural phenomenon with the art, music, and dances. By the influx of Buddhist traditions, Sri Lankan earliest folk music was later influenced. It’s not merely recited by the priestly castes and these songs were performed by commoners. Influenced by Parasi Theater as a consequence that is in the drama troupe in the latter part of the 19th century, Nurti is a stage drama. Because it belonged to the Elphinstone Dramatic Company of India, Nurti is the colloquial Sinhala form of the Sanskrit term “Nritya”.
